At what temperature should Champagne be enjoyed?
CHAMPAGNE IS BEST SERVED CHILLED
Serving a glass of Champagne
THE IDEAL TEMPERATURE: 8° TO 10°C (46°–50°F)
Experience shows that the perfect temperature to enjoy Champagne is between 8° and 10°C (46°–50°F).
Below this range, the wine is too cold and numbs the taste buds, limiting the perception of aromas.
Above 10°C, Champagne tends to feel heavier on the palate and loses its lively freshness.
TIPS TO CHILL YOUR BOTTLE QUICKLY
The two recommended methods are:
- Immerse the bottle in a bucket filled with ice and water for about 30 minutes.
- Lay the bottle flat at the bottom of the refrigerator for around 4 hours.
In any case, avoid placing the bottle in the freezer. Likewise, to preserve the finesse of the bubbles, it is not recommended to chill Champagne glasses in the refrigerator.
